There have been so many small details that have come to the forefront this week... everything from art directing costume jewelry created by the talented Darcy Matthews to beginning stunt choreography with the two leads Laron Wilson and Katherine Joan Taylor, to calling on permits for the various locations that we are shooting throughout the state... to even securing an RV to use on the locations that will be shot out of the county.
Tomorrow is the first of seven Saturdays of film production. We've already had a few bumps in the schedule, but we're still in great shape.
Executive Producer Tracy Smith is now our new Director of Photography. He may share DOP duties with his brother and crew member Shane Smith and 1st Assistant Director Todd McGowan. This trio of talent will certainly bring a unique polish to the film.
On a personal note: I am so impressed with the professionalism I have encountered with the actors and crew. I can hardly contain my excitement to work with everyone on set. I won't have to wait long, because those days are coming up rather quickly.
Here we go!

UPDATE: The shoot was simple, but fun. A great big thank you to the Moncur Family- Matt, Melanie, and their three adorable kids. Both Matt and Melanie are childhood friends of mine, and it was fun to be able to include them in to this, which was literally a childhood fantasy Matt and I had- practicing to make movies during summertime backyard sleep-overs. You guys were great!!!

Upward and Onward
The production meeting was a success. We were extremely happy with everyone's enthusiasm for the film and eagerness to get started.
This is the calm before the storm. The next few weeks are devoted to cinching up details and finessing production plans.
